Collection: The Beth Crowder Collection
Beth’s journey as an artist dates back to her teenage years in New York City, where she attended the High School of Art and Design. There she studied art for four hours a day before frequently cutting afternoon classes to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and immerse herself in the work of the great Masters of Impressionism. Beth later lived all over the world before finally settling in West Virginia, her home since 1977.
While her early career focused on portraiture, in the early 1990s Beth turned her attention to the art of landscape, that for which she has become best known. Equally popular are Beth's one-of-a-kind sheep paintings, which have earned her the title "Sheep Lady."
Beth's award-winning paintings can be found in private collections both domestically and internationally, as well as in many public spaces, including in the permanent collection of the State of West Virginia.
